The purpose of a road safety assessment is to examine the safety of a roadway by an independent, multi-disciplinary team comprising SCDOT, Traffic Engineers, and Local Stakeholders. The team identifies areas of concern based on crash data analysis and observations in the field. After the field visit, the team categorizes potential areas of improvement along the study corridor.
